The standout feature of Casa Mar is its lush, green garden, which was my favorite part of the stay. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with plant-lined paths connecting the different areas. There are two seating areas with hammocks where you can relax in the shade, as well as another spot with chairs, tables, and more hammocks. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the island. Just be sure to use mosquito repellent (that goes for anywhere on Holbox!).

Despite there being 9 units at Casa Mar, the space feels very private. The accommodations are divided between two buildings, and separated by the central garden, which gives you a sense of personal space. This setup creates a quiet, serene atmosphere, even though you’re just a short distance from the beach and the town center.

Convenient Location

If you’re wondering where to stay in Isla Holbox for easy access to the beach, without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle, Casa Mar is perfect. It’s just two blocks from the beach, and a 10-15 minute walk to the center of town. You get the best of both worlds: peace and quiet, but also the convenience of being close to restaurants and attractions.

Casa Mar offers a range of rooms and suites, catering to different needs and budgets. We stayed in the ground floor studio, which was ideal for us. It had two beds separated by a half wall, a small kitchenette with a stove, refrigerator, and a kitchen table—perfect for preparing quick meals and snacks, especially when traveling with a small child.

The studio also included a private bathroom, towels for both the shower and the beach, a coffee maker with coffee, and essential amenities like air conditioning, which is a must on this tropical island. For larger groups or those looking for a more economical option, there are rooms with one bed or larger suites available.

The decor at Casa Mar is a beautiful blend of minimalism and natural, boho beach vibes. The rooms feature warm, natural details like macrame, wood accents, and wicker lamp shades. Outside, the seating areas are adorned with beautiful hammocks and classic Equipale chairs, creating a relaxed, stylish ambiance.

Fast Wifi for Remote Work

For those working remotely, this Airbnb in Isla Holbox has fast, reliable wifi. We had no trouble uploading videos or connecting for work purposes, which makes it a good option for digital nomads or anyone needing to stay connected during their vacation.

Excellent Communication with the Host: Airbnb in Holbox

Our experience with the host was excellent. She was always quick to respond and provided us with plenty of local recommendations, including off-the-beaten-path spots. She even helped arrange a taxi for our early morning departure, ensuring everything went smoothly despite a storm outside and a very early departure hour. It was reassuring to know that any issues would have been handled promptly.
